Scholarships can make the difference in whether a student not only attends college, but also whether the student remains in college. Nurturing a student’s academic talents and career goals provides a rich and rewarding experience.
SCDAA recognizes undergraduate academic excellence and achievement among students living with sickle cell disease and inspire graduates to consider dedicating their careers to sickle cell research and treatment by offering an array of scholarship opportunities.
The Kermit B. Nash Scholarship provides high school awardees living with sickle cell disease academic financial assistance. These students are selected from nominations from our member organizations. SCDAA also sponsors Post Doctoral fellowships for young investigators participating in sickle cell disease related research. Basic and clinical research efforts are crucially important to expand knowledge of SCD and to finding a cure.
