SCDAA welcomes Ashley Clark as Project Director in support of the SCD Newborn Screening Project. Clark’s professional experience includes the following: State Office Rural Health Manager, Community Health Worker Network Coordinator and Community Health Consultant with the Virginia Department of Health Office of Health Equity. In addition, Clark has extensive experience working with the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) whereby she “presently” provides oversight of 15 VA state contracts (community-based organization) funded by HRSA under the auspices of the VA State Office of Rural Health. Presently, Clark is also a certified federal grant reviewer for HRSA.

Clark received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Spelman College. She acquired her Master of Public Health  from Liberty University with a concentration in Global Health. Clark is presently pursuing her doctorate in Public Policy with a concentration in Social Policy from Liberty University with an expected completion of May 2021.
