SCDAA’s 2025 Advocacy Days were held on May 7-8 in Washington, D.C.!
In May, representatives from our member organizations from across the country joined us in Washington, D.C., for our 2025 Advocacy Days events. Our sickle cell advocates spent the first day preparing to speak with their senators and representatives. On the second day, we journeyed to Capitol Hill to hold meetings with officials and discuss the importance of supporting sickle cell legislation, protecting Medicaid and more. Thank you to everyone who helped make this year a success! View more photos from the event.

About Advocacy Days
Advocacy Days is an opportunity for patients and caregivers affected by sickle cell disease to learn how to advocate for issues that are important to them. Participants will learn about the key legislative issues that are important to individuals living with SCD and their families, including promoting stable funding for research, better health care access and increased education and awareness for the sickle cell community throughout the country. Then, they will speak with their representatives on the Hill to discuss the needs of our community.
