As a participant, you will have the opportunity to interact with medical experts as well as others living with sickle cell disease. You will gain valuable information about the latest treatment options, the growing number of medication being developed in clinical trials and identify how to participate in clinical trials. Our workshops will help to demonstrate in an effective manner procedures for addressing sickle cell pain in various settings and present evidence-based guidelines and best practices for daily self-care to improve overall health and quality of life. You also will learn about how individuals are working to decrease the amount of fragmentation of care from adolescent to adult providers and how to recognize, identify or assist in the development of social and emotional resources for patients and families.
Whether you are someone living with sickle cell disease, a physician or a researcher, or a nurse or community health worker, the 47th Annual National Convention has something to offer everyone.
