The SCDAA is pleased to announce that Leah Hill joins the National Staff as Project Manager. In this capacity, she will support SCDAA’s Sickle Cell Disease Newborn Screening Project by providing project management and synchronization of all operations of this multifaceted project.
Ms. Hill is a public health professional with expertise in project management, public health education, research, communications, and data management.
During her three years at the Baltimore City Health Department, one of the oldest health departments in the United States, she gained invaluable experience that is unique to the administration in the Opioid Crisis. Ms. Hill had the pleasure of being a member of the Opioid Overdose Prevention and Treatment Team, as the Acting Overdose Fatality Review Coordinator and Behavioral Health Fellow. She gained this fellowship through Baltimore Corps, an innovative organization that strives to place social justice advocates in public and private sectors to bring forth institutional change. She also has served as the Youth Health Equity Model of Practice Fellow with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Minority Health.
Ms. Hill received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Loyola University of Maryland.
