Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Inc. (SCDAA) is pleased to announce that Temidayo Makinde, MPA, CHES joins the National Staff as Member Services Advisor. In this capacity, Makinde will support all Membership activities which includes recruitment and retention, member services and engagement, oversight of membership database, and growing dues revenue.
Makinde brings extensive knowledge of membership services from the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs as well as the National Association of Counties, where she provided technical assistance to state and local health departments across the country through the development and maintenance of relationships as well as community outreach and identifying best practices related to health.
Most recently, Makinde served as a Research Assistant for the Prince George’s County Health Department. Under the direction of the Health Officer, she conducted outreach activities in the community to identify barriers to achieving health equity and recruited local hospitals and other organizations to join the Prince George’s County Health Equity Coalition as part of their Healthcare Alliance.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health from the University of Maryland, College Park and a Master of Public Administration from Bowie State University. She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist. In her spare time, Temidayo enjoys singing and developing invisible apps.
