SCDAA invites community-based organizations in the sickle cell community to apply for funding through the Sickle Cell Disease Newborn Screening Follow-Up Program.

Since 2018, SCDAA has collaborated with 16 community- based organizations (CBOs) on this program. The program’s goal is to ensure that individuals diagnosed with SCD receive appropriate follow-up services including counseling, education, access to a medical home and more by supporting CBOs focused on sickle cell disease. SCDAA serves as the National Coordinating Center and provides technical assistance to CBOs.
Eligibility
SCDAA seeks to provide funding to incoming CBOs and/or current sub-grantees in order to achieve the goals of this program. Consult the “CBO Standards” document for eligibility criteria. Current sub-grantees should refer to specific instructions in the RFP for completing the application.
Funding
CBOs selected through this funding opportunity will begin November 1, 2020. Four (4) awards are available; each award is $25,000. Funds must be spent by May 31, 2021. Funding is provided on a reimbursement basis.
Deadline & Technical Assistance
The due date for applications is October 9, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. (EST). Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered. Each completed application should be sent to Ashley Clark at aclark@sicklecelldisease.org with four attachments titled: Narrative, Budget, Work Plan and Attachments.
